Stephen P. Cali, P.E., received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Tulane University in 1981. He has 29 year experience as a professional engineer and is licensed in seven states with active registrations in Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. Throughout his career, he has been involved with many civil and structural engineering projects including flood control structures for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, roadway and bridge projects for many State Transportation Departments, infrastructure projects for municipalities throughout Southeast Louisiana, and both residential and commercial real estate development projects. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, he spent 24 years with national engineering firms. In the wake of Katrina, Mr. Cali established Cali & LaPlace Engineers, LLC to respond to the needs of reconstruction in the Gulf South region.
Since that time, he has been a part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Task Force Guardian and Task Force Hope in repairing and re-building the Hurricane Protection System. He has also provided structural engineering to many residents of the area as they re-build their homes and lives on the Gulf Coast. Mr. Cali has been fortunate to provide structural engineering to the Make It Right Foundation and Global Green in their efforts to rebuild affordable sustainable housing in the New Orleans area. Mr. Cali has significant experience in designing with Structural Insulated Panels (SIP) having completed over 20 unique designs with various SIP’s. Mr. Cali is a life long resident of the New Orleans area.
